Only God.

This picture has been going around Facebook lately and I just really wanted to share it with y'all. It's just an amazing picture of LIFE and beauty.

The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr. Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr. Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.

The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity. The editors titled the picture, "Hand of Hope." The text explaining the picture begins, "The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life."

Little Samuel's mother said they "wept for days" when they saw the picture. She said, "The photo reminds us pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person" Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful. Now see the actual picture, and it is awesome...incredible....

Blog Friends to Real Life Friends!

When we consider the blessings of God-the gifts that add beauty and joy to our lives, that enable us to keep going through stretches of boredom and even suffering-friendship is very near the top."

Y'all.. this weekend was the BEST weekend I have had in so long.
As you know, Jessica and I made the long trip to Mississippi this weekend to meet our sweet blogger friend, Nicole.

Jess & I were pretty nervous walking up to her apartment to meet her for the first time, but as soon as she opened the door it was like we had known each other for our whole lives. We literally squealed SO loud when we all saw each other.
It took about .5 seconds before we were chatting it up in Nicole's bathroom getting ready for dinner!

Dinner was so much fun! Nicole took us to a local Mexican restaurant :) There was literally not one second of silence.. our poor waiter couldn't even get us to stop talking long enough to order !!

After dinner we went back to Nicole's.. her boyfriend, Tyler & two of their other friends, Kayla & Chad came over to hang out! It was so much fun meeting them!!

Our first picture together!! :-)
The next morning we woke up bright & early and got ready for the UGA/Ole Miss game!
It was so much fun getting ready with all four of us girls in Nicole's room.

Of course we had to have a photo shoot before we ventured off to The Grove!!

Adam was also in Oxford for the weekend with his friends so he came over and hung out at the tailgate for a little while!! I was so happy him and Tyler got to meet.. they had lots in common and got along great!!
They are now called the "blog boyfriends" ;-)

After the game we headed back to Nicole's. We started talking about blogs & stuff and decided on a neat little (..HUGE) project. Can't wait to share more later once everything is in place!!! Trust me, ITS GOING TO BE AMAZING!!
Little ole me didn't last very long before I was napping.. thankfully Jess and Nicole got a lot accomplished ;-)

Sunday morning came way too early :( The first thing I said as soon as my eyes opened was how bad I didn't want to leave...
My favorite part of the ENTIRE weekend was the few minutes before we left that we spent before the Lord. We went to Him for prayer for our friendship & for our new project. I have no doubt that God was with us all weekend. I am SO thankful He gave us three the opportunity to meet each other in real life.

We will be friends for life.

We were SO sad to leave... BUT...

There are already plans in the works for Nicole & her boyfriend to take a trip to Athens in November!!!!!

So, in just 2 short months these three best friends will be reunited again!

Thank you God, & blogger for this amazing friendship :-)

WILW

I'm linking up with Jamie today for WILW :-)

I am LOVING that finally finally FINALLY this weekend Jess and I will be traveling to Oxford, Mississippi to stay with Nicole & go to the UGA/Ole Miss game. To say I'm excited would be a complete understatement. I have been looking forward to this trip since the second we planned it! I can't wait to MEET and spend time with Nicole! It's still so funny to me that we're staying with someone we've never met in real life yet she feels like she's been our friend forever!

I am LOVING this recap video of the middle/high school retreat from this past week! If you didn't see my post about that, check it out below!

& finally I am LOVING my Kindergartners. Even though they wear me out, I love them to death. Still not sure if I will be able to be a K teacher full time, but student teaching them is fun :-)

Happy Wednesday!!

Forever, I am changed by mercy.

"I have built with my hands all the walls that hold me in. I have wandered my way in the desert. I have struggled against all the blessings you have sent & I'm back to the place of surrender...

Lord, you meet me here in my darkest hour, and you stir my heart with your love. Forever, I am changed by mercy, forever my heart is alive. Forever, I am yours my savior, forever my hope is Christ.

Tears are sweet as they fall, mercy rushes through my soul, bowing low as you wash me with healing. Lord you sealed me with grace, life eternally sustained by the hope in my soul your revealing.

Lord, you meet me here in my darkest hour, and you stir my heart with your love. Forever, I am changed by mercy, forever my heart is alive. Forever, I am yours my savior, forever my hope is Christ.

The power of sin is broken I have been set free, for I have died and Jesus is alive in me!

The power of sin is broken I have been set free, for I have died and Jesus is alive in me!

The power of sin is broken I have been set free, for I have died and Jesus is alive in me!

Forever, I am changed by mercy, forever my heart is alive. Forever, I am yours my savior, forever my hope is Christ."

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.~Galations 2:20

"Take my life, I lay it down, at the cross, where I am found. All I have, I give to you oh God. Take my hands, and make them clean, keep my heart in purity, that I may walk in all You have for me...

Oh, here I stand arms open wide. Oh, I am yours and you are mine Jesus.
Take my moments, and my days, let each breath that I take be ever only for You oh God...

Oh, here I stand arms open wide. Oh, I am Yours and You are mine. Oh, here I stand arms open wide. Oh, I am Yours and You are mine.

My whole life is Yours, I give it all, surrender to Your name, and forever I will pray, have Your way, have Your way, My whole life is Yours, I give it all, surrender to Your name, and forever I will pray...have Your way, have Your way...

Oh, here I stand, arms open wide. Oh, I am Yours and You are mine. Oh, here I stand, arms open wide. Oh, I am Yours and You are mine. Oh, here I stand, arms open wide...

Oh, I am Yours and You are MINE!

My whole life is YOURS, I give it ALL, surrender to Your name, and forever I will pray, have Your way, have Your way.

My whole life is Yours, I give it all, surrender to Your name, and forever I will pray...

HAVE YOUR WAY!"

Amazing, amazing, AMAZING weekend spent worshiping & serving.
Two of our small group girls dedicated their lives to Christ & I couldn't be happier for them.
I feel SO blessed to be surrounded by such authentic community.
These people bless my life so much.

Football Friday !

T.G.I.F. !!!

I'm linking up with my sweet friend Nicole today for Football Friday!!
~There is nothing I love more than Saturdays in Athens cheering on my Dawgs.
This week is our first home game & we're playing S. Carolina--it's a huge game to say the least!
The thing about games in Athens (or anywhere in the SEC for that matter) is that we are incredibly obsessed with our game day apparel. My roomies and I have been digging through each others closets since Monday trying to figure out what we're going to wear. Every week it's the same thing.. & then we just end up buying something! Ha!!

So today for FF I decided to highlight typical game day outfits...

Me & Jess
Me & Adam at Auburn
Me & Lindsey in Jacksonville

~Hope y'all have a good weekend rooting on your favorite team!

WILW

I'm linking up with Jamie today for WILW ! :-)

1) I am LOVING that this weekend is UGA's first home game! Can't wait to spend the day tailgating with my family & friends!

2) I am LOVING that tomorrow Nicole, Jessica & myself have a three-way phone date to make our plans for the Ole Miss/UGA game weekend in Oxford!! Nicole is so sweet to let us stay with her for the weekend~it will be our first time meeting her and we are beyond excited!

3) I am LOVING that it feels like FALL this week in Georgia. I know it won't last & will be back to 90*+ next week, but for now it's wonderful!

4) I am LOVING these random pins I've found this week on Pinterest...

This is my favorite verse right now! Sometimes I get really down on myself when it comes to my looks & I'm always comparing myself to others~I have this written on my mirror & it's just a reminder that God loves me & loves the way I look, and to Him I am perfect.

I just thought this was really cool~I'm obsessed with makeup & would die to have this storage system.

I thought this was so cute~great way to use paint chips! Will definitely be doing this in my classroom.

I just thought this was really sweet. I always think about my future kids & I get so excited thinking about their personalities, what they'll look like, what things they'll like.. and seriously if they are anything like Adam I will be so happy :-)
I love this outfit~PERFECT for fall !
