Sunday Scripture

Hello beautiful ladies! I hope your weekend has been fantastic. Instead of just sharing a verse with y'all today I wanted to share something I read in Jesus Calling earlier this week : )

You are feeling weighed down by a plethora of problems, both big and small.
They seem to require more and more of your attention,
but you must not give in to those demands.
When the difficulties in your life feel as if they're closing in on you,
break free by spending quality time with Me.
You need to remember who I am in all My Power and Glory.
Then, humbly bring Me your prayers and petitions.
Your problems will pale when you view them in the Light of My Presence.
You can learn to be joyful in Me, your Savior, even in the midst of adverse circumstances.
Rely on Me, your Strength; I make your feet like the feet of deer, enabling you to go on the heights

We all have different circumstances in life that are bringing us down. Some very big things may be happening in your life that you can't break free from. You may even be experiencing something that is of smaller significance but it still occupies your time. This week, especially, I have been feeling weighed down by a particular problem and when I read this it just helped me to put it into perspective. Although this is a substantial issue, there is nothing that He can't fix.

"I may be weak, but Your sprit's strong in me. My flesh may fail, but my God You never will."

Spring Fever

I don't know about y'all but I have been dreaming of spring lately! I just cannot stand being pale, I hate static, and my skin is so dry I am about to go crazy. I am SO much happier when it's warm outside.

Praying for warmer weather soon. Until then....

Concert + Date Night

This past weekend Adam and I decided last minute to go to the Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors Concert! Drew's wife, Ellie sings with him and oh my gosh they are the CUTEST. They have the best chemistry on stage that I have ever seen. She is the most joyful person and I just loved watching them perform!! Our musician for our wedding, Emily Hearn, was opening for them and since she also leads worship at our church a lot of our friends were there which was really fun : ) Emily has the best voice I have ever heard (no joke) so I of course loved hearing her!

Adam and I really love Athens. Literally everything about it. As we've gotten "older" and have begun transitioning out of the college life we have been finding more and more things that we love about Athens. The music scene is one of those things.

We started our night with a few drinks at Trapeze before heading to the concert : )

Here is my favorite Drew & Ellie song (Also, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors come out with a new album tomorrow so you should check it out!!)

and my favorite Emily Hearn song that she will be singing as we walk back up the aisle as Mr. & Mrs.!

"'Cause darlin' I need you like ships need the sea"

Friday Funnies

So apparently I am a super old, living under a rock, not a clue what's going on in the world 23 year old.

On Wednesday, UGA football tweeted a video of the team doing the "harlem shake" (???) So since Adam is in charge of social media for the football team I clicked the link to watch the video..

I seriously could not stop laughing. but I had no idea what it was. then I youtubed Harlem Shake and apparently this is some new craze that I was 100% not aware of. I seriously feel like an old fart who is so far out of the loop it's not even funny. I may still be in college but really I feel like I'm not since I'm student teaching everyday and the only time I'm on campus is every other Tuesday/Thursday night.

My dad told me the entire student section at the basketball game did it so I youtubed that too. I still don't understand the point (I guess there really isn't one) but it looks fun and makes me laugh so I watched about 25 different versions of it on youtube ha!! These are all UGA versions.. clearly I need to get a life and figure out whats going on around here..

Please tell me I'm not the only one who wasn't aware that this even existed?!

4 Years!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Not only is V-day a day to celebrate our love but it is also the day we celebrate our relationship! Technically we started "dating" the night before V-day but we just like saying V-day is our anniversary haha

We have been together FOUR years today : )

I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane...

Our first "date" (we hung out at a party together haha) four years ago
(and funny story.. I realize this shirt is hideous, but I cannot throw it away.. I refuse. I haven't even worn it since this night but I just can't let it go.. and I am NEVER like that with stuff. ha)

this picture makes me laugh. my family is nuts.. we went to tybee to celebrate my grandparent's 50th anniversary and we got matching t-shirts and had a wedding on the beach for them to re-new their vows complete with tissue paper flowers and an iHome for the music ; ) ha!!!

and because I think it is hilarious.. here are some facebook messages I found the other day from 2006!!!! hahaha I had the BIGGEST crush on him. Who would have thought we would be getting MARRIED one day! SO glad that we are : )

Happy Valentine's Day!!
I love y'all lots!

Sunday Scripture

"God, create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not banish me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore the joy of Your salvation to me, and give me a willing spirit. Then I will teach the rebellious Your ways, and sinners will return to You."
[Psalm 51:10-13]

Thursday Thoughts

Happy Thursday, friends!! This week has been all sorts of crazy and I am just happy it is almost the weekend. I need some R&R desperately!

I am writing this quickly while the kiddos are at specials :) I am loving student teaching SO much and cannot wait to have a classroom of my own. I daydream about how I would set up the class, how I would decorate it, what kind of management I would use. It's all so exciting.

Speaking of exciting, about a month ago I took the GACE which is the test we have to take to become certified educators in Georgia. I found out Tuesday that I passed both sections!!! All I need now is a degree and I am ready to go : )

My kids are HILARIOUS. Seriously they have me in stitches everyday. Yesterday we let the kids move their desks wherever they wanted. Then they had to tell us if they liked their new spot or not and why. Well one of the answers was just too stinking cute and HONEST I could not stop laughing. 6 year olds have NO filter!!!

That's all for today : ) xO

Scripture Sunday

This verse is such a great reminder to not let the temptations of this world bring you down. It's so easy to get caught up in life and doing anything and everything to get ahead. But don't do it. Don't come down. You are doing a great work and it will be rewarded. Life is hard. and when you don't exactly follow what the world says is "cool" or "popular" life can be really hard. but it's worth it.
Do not come down!!
