Midweek Randoms

I'm linking up with Megan today for midweek randoms.

(1) we celebrated my mom and niece's birthdays last night with dinner at our favorite italian restaurant. my dad's side of the family joined us and we had the best time.

(2) adam and I are trying to decide if we want to go to savannah this weekend. we more than likely will since it's not far and we have a free place to stay.

(3) we started the process of buying our first home yesterday. nothing too serious, just got pre-approved and found a realtor we love. will begin looking soon. not in a rush though (we're in our lease until next summer but hoping to sublease if we find something so if you know anyone in athens who wants a 3 bedroom town home let me know!!)

(4) ever since lexie and I moved into adam's house she has been acting CRAZY.. barking non-stop and eating SO much. I don't know what the deal is but she is about to drive me insane. thank-goodness I'm going back to work soon ; )

(5) speaking of work.. I start back SO soon. the kids don't come back until aug 7th but I have to be back July 31st. I'll be working in my classroom all next week to get ready for the school year!

(6) I'm really loving the she reads truth women in the bible series. if you aren't following along you should check it out here

(7) and just because i really like this quote and think this is pretty... :)

Hope y'all are having a great week!!

  4. Your kids start early- I'm thankful mine don't come back till the 26!

Good luck on getting everything set up. I learned last year to go the week before everyone comes back to set up the majority of your room, because you will have people in and out of your room wanting to meet you or help you, plus meetings I'm sure, and you'll feel like you are getting nothing accomplished!

  5. Hey Jamie! I think I may have a semi-possible answer to your #4 on today's post! I just moved into a new condo with my dog Miller and ever since my move, he had been acting strange as well so I called Miller's personal dog trainer and told her about my situation and copied her response below :)

"Moving to a new residence can trigger the development of separation anxiety. Before leaving the house (let's say for 3-6 weeks), take Miller for longer walks just one-on-one. You want to wear him out some before leaving him alone in his new space. When animals make big moves and transitions with there human, they pick up on your emotions and become easily drained and confused. Show more love to Miller and create new games to play and rules to follow within the new residence. Making sure you maintain the same old "routines and schedules" however with Miller is KEY".

  6. I'm a new follower and have loved reading your blog! Good luck with the house hunt! I'm also a newlywed and a new homeowner which is SO much fun!! It is awesome picking out new furniture and doing fun projects from Pinterest to decorate. My husband went to UGA, and Athens is such an awesome city! We live in Virginia but try to make it down to Athens for as many games as we can in the fall.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog!
