Our Current Schedule

Before I even got pregnant I had heard so many great things about Moms on Call that I knew it was something I wanted to read about when the time came for us to have a baby. I bought the book (on my kindle for iPhone so I can reference it easily) and the iPhone app when I was about 30 weeks pregnant and familiarized myself with the procedures of MOC. It sounded like something that would work for us so when we had Bennett we started immediately.

For the first two weeks have you feed on-demand every 2-3 hours. Bennett slept in his MamaRoo in our room and we basically just followed his cues for everything. Once Bennett hit the 2 week mark we started with the MOC schedule and have never looked back! *the only thing we didn't do was put him in his crib immediately because he was having severe reflux issues*

Side note: There are SO many different ways of raising babies. Some moms feed on-demand, some let their babies cry it out, some co-sleep, whatever you choose to do is what's right for YOU and YOUR baby and no one should make you feel bad about that. I have seen so much "mom shaming" on social media lately over the silliest of things and it just kills me. This is what we choose to do for our son and it works for us but if you aren't a schedule person or don't believe in sleep training then that's okay!! With that said MOC has seriously made all the difference in our lives and has allowed us to really enjoy our newborn.

Right now Bennett is 10 weeks old. Here is what our day looks like right now...

6:30am Adam wakes Bennett up and feeds him. He puts him in his Fisher Price sit-me-up floor seat while he takes a shower (I've already left for work at this point)

7:00am Adam leaves and takes Bennett to my parents house (W/F) or daycare (T/TH) before he goes to work. (Mondays he stays at our house with Adam's parents)

*big cousin checking up on Bennett at day care (she goes to pre-k in the same building)

7:00am-9:00am Bennett takes his morning nap during this time. Somedays he sleeps the full 2 hours, some days only 1 hour

9:30-10:00am (depends on the nap) Bennett eats again

10:00am-11:00am Bennett is usually awake during this time and will either do tummy time, lay in his swing, or lay in whoever's arms he's with ; )

11:00am-12:00pm Bennett takes a shorter nap during this time

1:00pm Bennett eats again

1:00pm-3:00pm This is usually when he gets out and runs errands with whoever he is with or goes on a walk. When I was home with him we always went somewhere during this time because he was always awake.

(if Bennett is at day care my mom picks him up at 2:30)

4:30pm Bennett eats again

5:30pm I pick Bennett up from my parents house and he usually falls asleep in the car

6:00pm-7:30pm This is one of Bennett's best nap times of the day. I guess after being gone all day he is worn out by this time

7:30pm This is my favorite time of the day with Bennett...bath time! This kid LOVES the bath. I have to wake him up to put him in and it makes him so happy.

8:00pm Bennett eats for the last time

8:30pm I swaddle Bennett and rock him for a minute before I put him down to sleep. He has been sleeping in his crib full time for the two weeks or so and he is doing so great with it!

*we dropped the middle of the night feeding right at 9 weeks and he has been sleeping through the night consistently for a week now (WAHOOOOO!!!!)

I was always worried I would have a baby that was a bad sleeper who wanted nothing to do with their crib but thankfully I got the complete opposite!

If you are pregnant or think you will be soon Mom's on Call is a great resource! I constantly check the app and book for random things during the day. Everything we have tried from the book has been successful for us!
