Bennett | 8 Months

This past month has seen the most growth and change. Bennett is feeling less and less "baby" everyday. He is constantly on the go and making us laugh with his crazy personality. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be his mama.

Weight/Height: We won't go back to the doctor until his 9 month appointment but I'm guessing he is 20lbs+. Not sure about height but he has definitely grown a lot the last month.

Hair:  I'd say we officially have a little blondie on our hands. Spending the entire month of June at the beach definitely had a hand in that change ; )

Eyes: The prettiest, lightest, blue ever.

Clothes: Shorts are still 3-6 months (#ShortLegProbs) but all shirts/jon jons are 12-18m. We've also bought a few 2t things for the fall.

Diapers: Still size 3

Sleeping: Bennett has FINALLY gotten back into his good sleeping habits. He goes to bed at 7:30pm and wakes up around 6:30-7:00am. He has never been a great napper so I'm pretty used to that but he usually does 2-3 naps for 45mins-1.5hr.

Likes: FOOD, playing with the dogs, & pretending to walk.

Dislikes: Bennett has started getting upset when we put him in the car sometimes. I think it's mainly because it's so hot outside!

Eating: 7:00am- 7.5oz bottle
8:00am- baby food + sippy cup
             11:00am- 7.5oz bottle
12:00pm- baby food + sippy cup
             3:00pm- 7.5oz bottle
4:30pm- baby food + sippy cup
             7:00pm- 7.5oz bottle

I am probably going to move him to the 8-10 month Mom's on Call schedule soon and start giving him more finger food snacks and less bottles during the day.

Milestones: Bennett is officially on the move! He is a crawling machine these days. He has been scooting and army crawling for a while but finally decided he would do it the right way and now there is no stopping him! He has also started pulling up on anything and everything and shows a big interest in walking. I love watching his independence grow.

Baby items we can't live without: This month we discovered Bennett's love for any type of ball. We got him a football and soccer ball and he is obsessed with them. He likes to sit on the floor and roll them back and forth with us. We spent a lot of time playing in the living room floor this month and he has really enjoyed all of his toys and books!

August Goals

Helllllllo! It is officially August & officially back to the real world for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my summer with Bennett and really wish it could have lasted a bit longer, but I am excited to start this year and get those first few weeks under my belt. It's hard being the new girl. I miss knowing everyone and knowing where everything is/how to do everything BUT my new school is amazing and my co-workers are great so I know it's only a matter of time before I feel like I'm part of the family again.

I didn't make any goals for July because I was busy being carefree and not caring about anything but playing with my baby. So there's that.

With a new school year starting I am feeling energized and ready to conquer goals both at work and at home.

1. Clean out/purge kitchen drawers. We have a ton of bottom cabinet space in our kitchen that has basically been serving as a storage unit since we moved in. Now that we have an actual storage unit in our backyard it's time for us to utilize this space more efficiently.
2. Continue refining our budget and making some necessary cut backs. We have worked really hard to come up with a practical budget but I feel like there are a few areas (car payment, cable/internet) that we could cut back on so we're hoping to make some changes in those areas soon!
3. I really want to make it a priority to get to work early so that I can leave early. We are fortunate that Adam is able to get Bennett up in the morning and get him to wherever he goes that day (my parent's house/daycare) so I am able to go in pretty early.

Here's to a fresh month & a new school year!
