What's Up Wednesday

I'm excited to start linking up for What's Up Wednesday! It's always nice to have a topic or two to write about ; )

What we're eating this week: We have been on a huge kick of salads and baked potatoes lately. It's such an easy, super cheap meal and keeps me full..which is no easy task these days!

What I'm reminiscing about: The Timehop app has really been pulling at my heart strings this week with throwback Carolyne-Grace pictures. I love thinking about all the sweet time we had together when she was younger. She is much more independent these days but still loves her time with MayMay

& just so no one freaks out about her not being in a car seat...we were playing in my car in the driveway. I really hate that I even have to say that but I know there are always crazies who examine every single picture!

What I'm Loving: I am loving that we know the gender of baby #2 and that I am able to start some planning. Since the boys are going to be sharing a room I'm looking forward to getting started with that. I'm also loving just being able to write their names next to each other. TWO boys! What a dream!

What We've Been up to: We have been busy preparing for our beach trip coming up in a few days! It takes a ton of preparation to take a one year old on a 9 hour trip.

What I'm Dreading: I'm not necessarily dreading it, but I am a little worried about driving to the beach. We are leaving Friday around 5pm in hopes that BT will fall asleep around 7 and sleep most of the way there. Leaving at 5 will get us there around 2am so hopefully he won't have any trouble falling back asleep once we get there.

What I'm Working on: I've been spending a lot of my planning period lately working on plans for next school year. Knowing that I will be leaving for maternity leave only a month into school has me wanting to be as prepared as possible when we start back in August. Once I get to this point in the school year I am usually ready to start thinking about what I want to do the next year but this year it's especially important to me to be ready.

What I'm Excited About: I am super excited to spend 5 days at the beach with my boys. I can't wait to see Bennett in the sand again!

What I'm Watching/Reading: I am in such a guilty phase of ridiculous amounts of reality t.v. I've been all about Vanderpump Rules (sad it's over..), Teen Mom 2, and really pumped about Southern Charm coming back on next week!

What I'm Listening to: Tons of Shane&Shane and Bethel. Also the new Florida Georgia Line song because Adam is obsessed with it ha!

What I'm Wearing: A ton of stretchy skinny jeans! It's amazing to me how quickly my body is changing during this pregnancy. I'm definitely getting close to needing to wear some maternity pants just because regular ones are so uncomfortable. As soon as I get home from work I change straight into comfy shorts/pants. Definitely thankful the bulk of my pregnancy will be over the summer when I can wear whatever I want.

What I'm Doing this Weekend: Going to the beach!

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: Being one month closer to SUMMER!

What Else is New: I'm just really enjoying being pregnant which makes me so so happy. I never in a million years thought I would have a positive experience with being pregnant after my first pregnancy. I am so thankful for this sweet boy growing in my belly : )

It's a......

Tomorrow is the big day we find out whether Bennett will be getting a little brother or a little sister! I am beyond excited and just ready to know!! I thought it would be fun to share some gender wives tales to see if any of them are accurate tomorrow when we find out. I don't remember really looking at these when I was pregnant with Bennett, other than the Chinese calendar (which was wrong..), so this is fun for me! When I started looking online for the wives tales I realized there's about 9000 different ones and some sites differ on whether certain things mean boy/girl. I just found a random picture on Pinterest and went with it.. ; )

Old Wives' Tales Gender Reveal Free Printable - super-cute idea and activity!:

Chinese calendar: BOY
Cravings: GIRL
Baby's heart beat: GIRL
Daddy's weight: GIRL
Moodiness: GIRL
Morning sickness: BOY
Skin: GIRL
Headaches: GIRL
Carrying: BOY
Balance: GIRL
Belly growth: GIRL
Sleeping on the: BOY/GIRL

So apparently from this we are for sure having a girl hahaha! I obviously don't take this too serious and am doing it for fun but I do think it will be interesting to see if it's true. People keep asking if I want a boy/girl and I honestly do not care. The thought of both excites me so much for different reasons. I'm just really anxious to know. So what do y'all think...BOY OR GIRL??

Bennett | Spring Clothing + Shoes

I have been getting a ton of questions on Instagram lately about Bennett's clothes so I though I'd do a quick post with some of our current favorites for spring! I mostly shop at Nordstrom and Gap for him with a few small businesses sprinkled in. Click the links below the pictures for the exact product.

Native Shoes | We absolutely love these shoes! They are perfect for outdoor play because they can be washed off so easily.

Honeybee Tees | These are some of our favorite t-shirts. Bennett has a couple different ones and they all fit perfectly. He especially loves his "go dawgs" one ; )

Smocked Auction Jon Jons | Last summer Bennett lived in SA Jon Jons. I can't wait to break them out again super soon. We have a cute one ready for Easter & a couple different ones for our trip to the beach in April.

Vineyard Vines t-shirt | Another favorite place to get t-shirts. They are preppy and look adorable on BT.

Gap Stripe Shorts | I'm pretty sure we have these in at least 6 different colors/styles. They are well-made and last forever and go with everything! Highly recommend!

Salt Water Sandals | We haven't had a chance to really wear these much yet but I have tried them on him inside with a couple different outfits and they look adorable. I can't wait to see him wear them with all his new Jon Jons!

14 Weeks

How far along: 14 weeks

Baby size: Baby is the size of a jalapeno!

Baby's progress: Baby is doubling in weight each week. He/she is starting to move even though I can't feel it yet.

Weight gain: None so far but I'm definitely starting to show more.

Stretch marks: None

Sleep: Not too bad. Still getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and occasionally its hard to get comfortable.

Gender: We find out next week! I'm still thinking girl but I would be so so happy either way.

Movement: None yet but I cannot WAIT!

Best moment this week: Not pregnancy related, but as you can see from my picture I cut my hair! I don't know exactly how many inches I got rid of but it was a ton. My friend Katie always does such a great job with my hair and I am loving my easy, low maintenance, mom hair cut/color ; )

Looking forward to: Our gender ultrasound!

Food cravings: Still on a fruit kick. Fresh fruit, fruit smoothies, fruit juice, anything with lots and lots of fruit. I had fresh squeezed orange juice at brunch this week and it was literally the best thing I've ever had.

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing too out of the ordinary.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really but I am having aversions to most meats, especially chicken.

Labor signs: Nope

What I miss: Not much

Symptoms: My skin has started to settle down a good bit so I assume the craziness was just the new pregnancy hormones. Who knows, but I'm glad it's getting better! I've started getting slight headaches every night. Drinking more water has helped though :)

Things that suck: Not much. I am truly enjoying this pregnancy, which I didn't really get to experience as much when I was pregnant with Bennett. I was obviously SO thankful to be pregnant but when you're sick as much as I was it's just not as fun. I am extremely grateful that this time has been different and I've really been able to enjoy it.

Things that don't suck: Starting to have more of a bump. It's definitely bigger at the end of the day but I can't wait to be out of this "middle" stage where people can't tell whether I'm pregnant or just gaining weight!

I'd love to hear your guesses on whether you think Baby is a boy/girl! We will announce next Thursday night (Mar. 24th) !!

Our Favorite Outdoor Toys

We have been so fortunate to have some really warm days recently and it has me SO excited for spring and summer. We're back to a couple of cooler days but the 70's are in our future. With all of this nice weather we've been able to be outside a lot in the afternoon/evenings and I wanted to share some of our favorite outdoor toys!

outdoor toys

Outdoor house: We have one very similar to this and BT loves it. Opening/closing the door and pretending to wash his hands in the sink are his favorites.

Fisher Price Slide: We've had his slide in his playroom for the winter but finally moved it outside and he is still just as obsessed with it. He climbs up by himself but then gets scared to go down without help : )

Smart Trike: My parents got Bennett this trike for his birthday and we have loved it so much. It drives really smooth and the seat reclines so Bennett can relax on his walks.

Lawn mower: Adam's parents own a landscaping company so they got Bennett this lawn mower for his birthday so he would be like PawPaw. It has been a huge hit. He loves pushing it around and pretending to mow the grass.

Cozy Truck: I think this is definitely one of Bennett's favorite toys. He can climb in and out himself and loves being pushed around. He also likes storing things in his tailgate ; )

We really hope to get outside more in the coming weeks and continue using all of our fun outdoor toys!

March Goals

Displaying IMG_0533.JPG

I skipped February goals since I was taking a blogging break for obvious reasons so I'm excited to be back with some goals for March : ) We have a busy month ahead but I am really excited for it and we are really enjoying some of the warm weather we are starting to have. Mid 60's-70's for the next week..YES!

March Goals
1. Clean out our laundry room. We don't have a huge laundry room..it's in our hallway and just has two doors that open up to it but we have a shelf above the washer and dryer that is really getting on my nerves. I want to get some cute baskets for storage and just remove the junk that has found its way in there.

2. Find out the gender of our baby!! We find out boy or girl on March 24th and I cannot wait. I really have no preference at all but I'm just excited to be able to buy clothes and work on the shared nursery (more on that later)

3. Finish preparing for our spring break trip. We are going to Siesta Key April 2nd-6th and I am so excited. This is the beach Adam grew up going to and where we took Bennett on his first beach trip last spring break. It has been fun buying him some spring/summer clothes to get ready for our trip.

These goals are simple and sweet but I'm excited to get this month going!
