25 Weeks | Shep

Now that I am done with work for the summer I'm hoping to have more time to blog : ) Starting with keeping up with this pregnancy a little bit better than I have been.

It's crazy to me that I am just three weeks away from being in the third trimester. I feel like I literally just announced my pregnancy yesterday. I guess that's just how it goes with the second baby...

How far along: 25 weeks, 1 day

Baby's size: At our 19 week anatomy scan Shep was 11oz and 10in. It's unlikely that we will have another sonogram so from here on out will be a guess : ) He should be close to 2lbs and 14in.

Baby's progress: According to my favorite pregnancy app, Shep is the size of a cabbage, a baseball glove, a tarte, and a prairie dog ; )

Weight gain: I honestly have no idea.

Stretch marks: Nope

Sleep: Sleep has been okay. I have been sleeping on the couch most nights the last two weeks because for some reason it has been a lot more comfy than our bed.

Gender: BOY! Harrison Shepard "Shep" : )

Movement: If you read my last update you know that I have an anterior placenta which really prevented me from being able to feel Shep move. Thankfully I have felt him much more frequently the last few weeks even though it's probably not as much as someone else who is 25 weeks.

Best moment this week: I pulled out of all of Bennett's newborn clothes and made piles of keep, sell, or donate. I was able to sell a TON of his newborn things at a garage sale my mom and I had and I am going to take the rest to Goodwill after our vacation. I was surprised at how much I was able to keep to use for Shep even though it will be blazing hot when he is born and it was freezing when Bennett was an infant.

Looking forward to: Our annual family beach trip that starts tomorrow! We are going to St. Augustine and will be driving to Orlando for a day to take the kiddos to Disney. Until Bennett is older and we can do a for real Disney vacation this is the best way. He couldn't handle more than a day right now and I like the beach much more so it works out for everyone. We do hope to do a big family Disney trip in the future though : )

Food cravings: I am still really into salads and anything fruity! I've also been eating ice like crazy which has also turned Bennett into a crazy person wanting "Icesh" all the time!!!!

Weirdest food I ate this week: Nothing too weird I'm just eating A LOT. My appetite is out of control. It makes me feel good that I am eating (for the most part) healthy foods that I know are helping Shep grow.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope and not a day goes by that I'm not extremely thankful for this easy pregnancy.

Labor signs: No

What I miss: My bellybutton not sticking out!!!

Symptoms: Still absolutely nothing. If I didn't have a ginormous belly I wouldn't even know I was pregnant. It's so odd but such a blessing as I cannot imagine chasing around an (almost) 18 month old while being sick.

Things that suck: having to wear a bathing suit. Summer pregnancies are tough anyway but throw in having to wear a bathing suit and I just want to stay inside. Not a fan of the bump being out and about ; )

Things that don't suck: Not having to work and being able to wear whatever I want! I have been living in my Lululemon Tracker shorts (literally the greatest shorts ever) and maternity style workout shirts.

Bennett | 15-16 School Year

I cannot believe how fast this school year flew by! Bennett has grown SO much and reached so many milestones this year.
-He started the year with Ms. Jennifer in the seedlings (infant) classroom. He had just started crawling and didn't have any teeth.
-He transitioned to the sprouts (9m-14m) classroom with Ms. Victoria (he has a new lead teacher now, Ms. Brittany & her amazing assistant teachers Ms. Emily & Ms. Paige) around the time he started walking (10.5m).
-He spent a good three months getting cause reports every single day for biting or hitting. The biting finally stopped but the hitting/scratching is still an issue some days ; )
-Since starting this school year he has gained 5 lbs and grown over 6in!! He is no longer my short chubby baby..he is a long and lean toddler!
-Bennett can say so many words and repeats everything. His favorite words to say are "mommy", "daddy", "truck", "bus", and "thank you"

We are SO thankful for all the amazing people at ATP. It's not easy leaving my baby everyday to teach other people's children so I am extremely thankful he is in a place where he is so loved.

23 Weeks | Shep

So in true 2nd child fashion, I am already lagging behind with blog posts about Shep ; ) The last time I did an update I was only 14 weeks pregnant. Obviously a lot has changed since then so I figured it was time for an update. I guess we can just call this my 2nd trimester update and I'll hopefully get around to doing at least one more in my 3rd trimester ; )

How far along: 23 Weeks

Baby's size: At our 19 week anatomy scan Shep was 11oz and 10in.

Baby's progress: Shep is growing and making his presence a little more known.

Weight gain: I honestly have no idea

Stretch marks: Nope

Sleep: Sleep has been okay. I still have a few nights every once in a while where I don't sleep well.

Gender: BOY! Harrison Shepard "Shep" : )

Movement: At our 19 week anatomy scan we learned that my placenta is anterior which basically means it formed in front of the uterus, not behind it. From a health standpoint it doesn't make much of a difference where the placenta is except that if it continues to stay in front and moves down I could potentially get placenta previa. Thankfully the chances of that are low so I'm not too concerned about it right now. With all that said, since my placenta is in front of my uterus I haven't been able to feel Shep move as much as I would if my placenta was behind my uterus. I feel little flutters every now and then but that's about it.

Best moment this week: Putting together Bennett's big boy bed and really starting to make plans for the boys' shared nursery. I am really excited about them sharing a room (until we move next year).

Looking forward to: SUMMER! 7 days of school left ; ) We have a fun beach/Disney trip planned the first week of June and it will be the perfect way to kick off the summer.

Food cravings: I am still really into salads and anything fruity!

I can't believe how early it has "popped" this time around. I know it's superficial but it really does get on my nerves.

Symptoms: I literally don't feel pregnant..at all. Besides my growing belly I have zero symptoms. It's so strange!

Things that suck: Having to get dressed for work. I am officially done with non-maternity pants and I'm pretty much living in cotton dresses. I can't wait to be on summer break and where all the comfy clothes ; )

Things that don't suck: Making it to the halfway point (and beyond) of this pregnancy! I can't believe how fast it is going by.

May Goals

April Goals
1. Clean out our laundry room. YES! I finally got around to doing this and I loved the outcome. I have been in full nesting mode and this was what really kick started it.

2. Share inspiration for Bennett & Shep's shared room. I shared a picture on Instagram if that counts ; ) We are currently underway with our project of creating a shared room for Bennett and Shep and I love what's happening so far.

3. Take Bennett to his second G-Day game! G-Day was INSANE this year. Coach Smart called for 93k and he got it+some! It was so crowded but we had a great time.

4. Research mommy & me type classes that Bennett and I can do together this summer. I found a couple of different options that I think will be great for us. Our local library does free story time every week so we will definitely be going to that as well as a fun music class I found. Other than that I don't want too much scheduled time this summer.

May Goals
1. Continue working (if not finish..) the boys' room.
2. End the school year and begin my summer as a stay at home mama!
3. Make a citronella candle (random, but we've been talking about doing it forever and just haven't done it yet..)
4. Do a fun painting project with BT for a surprise for a sweet friend.
